The days continue to be sunny, warm, and wonderful here in California, with no hint of autumn in the air. The only thing missing is much needed rain, which is not in the forecast. We’re told there is an El Niño in the Pacific, which will bring some relief in the way of precipitation, and will, hopefully, have an impact on the four year drought here in Northern California.
Mike is in Nepal at the moment, where he is again seeing firsthand the devastation that took place from two major earthquakes. Our ministry continues to give out much needed supplies, including tin roofing, which the Nepali people use to provide shelter from the monsoon rains happening now.
Here’s a report from Mike about the devastation still there, and the aid our ministry is giving to these precious people of Nepal:

“The Nepali people are very resourceful and they are making do with living in tents and tin shacks.
We have seen whole villages that are now desolate, because of ongoing aftershocks and landslides. The people can’t stay in these areas. By the grace of God our ministry keeps reaching out to the many needs that are reported to us. In fact, Pastor Narayan’s phone hardly stops ringing with one need after another. Many families are now displaced and live in little camps, with tents and tin shacks and very little that they could get out from their collapsed homes. A former resident of our prayer home lives in one of the devastated areas that we visited, and when she saw the aid we were bringing in, she broke down and just sobbed.”
The situation in Nepal has changed again, after a few years of peace. The Nepali government has been working on a new constitution for a number of years, and has now put one in place that is making a lot of people unhappy, causing strikes to take place throughout the country. Because of this our ministry has had to work around these strikes, causing Mike and Pastor Narayan and the team to distribute aid after 5 pm or leave an area at night due to an impending strike the next day. Please pray for this ongoing situation in Nepal.

Mike will also be preaching in Singapore on this trip, ministering at two churches during the weekend he’ll be there. We so love the Singaporean people and are so blessed to be able to share the love of God and the Word of God with them!
We are “on the road again” this month, traveling to the Midwest for a month of ministry in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. It will be a special time to see our friends in the Midwest again, and to minister the Word of God to hungry people.
While we’re there, our good friends, Chander and Geri Mehta, have asked to do a fundraiser for us. On September 19th we will be at their home at 4500 Orchard Avenue North, Robbinsdale, MN from 1 pm to 3 pm, eating Uncle Chander’s wonderful curry and sharing about what the Lord’s been doing in our ministry this past year, as well as the plans for the upcoming year.
